Random thoughts and insights – always shaken, never stirred

Over in the Captain’s Quarters is a thorough debunking of yet another fantasy John Kerry has seared – seared in his brain, to whit, that he was in Safwan, Iraq on March 3, 1991 during the signing of the cease-fire for the first Gulf War. Kerry told this to Bill O’Reilly in an interview three years ago.

Other places John Kerry has been:

June 5, 1989 – John Kerry goes on a fact-finding tour to Beijing.

October 13, 1986 – Reykjavik, Iceland – John Kerry advises President Reagan to give Gorbachev “anything he asks for so we can exit the Cold War quagmire.”

January 20, 1981 – John Kerry undertakes a secret mission for President Jimmy Carter to Tehran and succeeds in negotiating the release of all the American hostages. In an ironic twist of fate, Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President the next day, stealing the credit.

December 25, 1968 – John Kerry visits Cambodia.

April 17, 1961 – John Kerry goes windsurfing off the coast of Cuba.

September 24, 1957 – John Kerry reads to schoolchildren in Little Rock.

October 14, 1950 – John Kerry goes windsurfing off Wake Island.

September 2, 1945 – John Kerry watches the surrender of the Japanese Empire.

May 7, 1945 – John Kerry snaps a picture as Colonel-General Alfred Jodl signs the surrender documents.

June 6, 1944 – John Kerry goes windsurfing off the coast of Normandy.

December 11, 1943 – John Kerry decides to run for President of the United States.

Update Fixed the link for September 2, 1945.
